On November 6, the winds and clouds changed - Hebei soccer's salary crisis continued to heat up, with numerous current players speaking out publicly within the team to reveal the truth about salary arrears. Even before the matter broke out, Coach Geng Xiaofeng paid attention and responded to Ding Haifeng and Ren Wei's comments on social media.

Retweeting the tweet in question, Geng commented, "The cracks of debt must not be allowed to spread unchecked in nature. This is no longer just about the soccer field. Every player loves soccer. Save the Hebei team, guard the dignity of Chinese soccer, and aid the workers who are owed wages."

Geng Xiaofeng has been a member of the Hebei squad since 2017. Excluding a brief loan spell with Chinese First Division side Hohhot in the 2020 season, Geng stuck with Hebei for three consecutive seasons until his move to Wuhan Sanzhen in 2021. This season, Geng Xiaofeng is playing for Chengdu, however, his salary dispute with Hebei is as stubborn as it is unresolved.
