On July 6, the official statement of the Central League released, pointing out that Beijing Institute of Technology Football Team forfeited the right to play in the first two rounds of the 2022 season of the Central League for some reasons. In response, Beijing Polytechnic Football Club quickly responded.

The organizing committee mentioned in the statement that due to the impact of the epidemic, Beijing Polytechnic was not able to enter the tournament area on time and could not participate in the first two rounds of the 2022 season of the Chinese League. As the league schedule has been set and the conditions for making up the matches are not available, it was decided to treat the matches as forfeits. After consulting with Beijing Polytechnic and other relevant teams, the above decision was made in accordance with the relevant provisions of the 2022 Chinese Football Association First Division League Regulations.

Today, Beijing Polytechnic Football Club issued an official statement emphasizing the following points:

I. Since the outbreak of the epidemic on the campus of Beijing Institute of Technology on May 18, according to the requirements of the Beijing Municipal Epidemic Prevention and Control, the school has implemented closed management and prohibited the entry and exit of people.

Second, during the epidemic prevention and control period, the club has repeatedly communicated with the relevant departments to extend the trip to the race area and the race area epidemic prevention and control measures, but has never received clear guidance.

Third, on June 10, the club traveled to the NJC hotel in a point-to-point closed-loop fashion with the assistance of the Region to undergo seven days of isolated health monitoring.

Fourth, the club had applied to participate in the second round of the Central League match against Jiangxi, but was rejected by the organizing committee of the tournament on the grounds of epidemic prevention.

V. In the fourth stage of the Central League last season, a team was refused entry by the tournament area for traveling to an epidemic risk area, but eventually the relevant authorities ensured that the team involved in the epidemic completed the full schedule of matches successfully by adjusting the route of the league.

The club said that as a soccer club of key universities in China, it respects and understands the epidemic prevention regulations of the local and tournament area and is willing to cooperate actively. At the same time, as a student army in the professional league, the team cherishes the opportunity to exercise in the professional league and hopes that competitive sports can be seen on the field. Therefore, the club will continue to insist on the demand of completing the first two rounds of this season's Central League through bye matches, and hopes that the relevant departments will consider it carefully.
