On Sept. 30, AFC came out with the big news that the 2024 U23 Asian Cup will be located in Qatar.
The decision was officially announced at the AFC meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Qatar came out on top of a tough competition and managed to beat Iran, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Uzbekistan to win the right to host the event.
It is worth mentioning that the 2024 U23 Asian Cup is not only a soccer feast, but also a qualifier to the Paris Olympics. The top three teams will qualify directly for the Olympics, while the fourth-place finishers will battle it out with the fourth-place finishers from the African qualifiers for a valuable Olympic ticket.
