In the news of September 29, an interview from the Central League was mentioned, and the focus was on Zhao Mingjian, who had just won the best player of the 22nd round of the Central League in Dalian. He responded to many of the public's curiosities.
-- New to the Quins, how's the adjustment going?
Zhao Mingjian responded with a smile, "The adaptation is not bad. Through in-depth communication with the head coach and the selfless help of my teammates, I feel that I have become one with the team. The current performance of the team also confirms our positive momentum."
--Why the preference for touching the ball with the outside of the foot?
"It's true that there are multiple footwork options on the field, sometimes with the mid-foot back, sometimes with the arch of the foot, and the outside of the foot is also one of them. Depending on the context, I will choose the most appropriate way to pass the ball, and there is really no deliberate preference for the outside back of the foot."
-Which is more satisfying to you, goals or assists?
"I prefer assists. I've always prided myself on being a green player, and most of my goals have come through luck and chance."
--What is the meaning of the social media nickname "Nicholas Zhao Si"?
"In 2013, I watched a country romance drama, and I especially liked the character Zhao Si in the drama, and felt that I was somewhat like him. Since then, the name has stuck. When I was in the Dalian team, my teammates called me Little Tiger and Hair Sword, and now that I'm older, some people also call me Fourth Brother, which is just a different name that people call me."
--Why do you like to chat with fans on the air?
"Everyone has their own hobbies, some like golf, some like pool, some like reading. As for me, I just like to chat with everyone in the live broadcasting room and share my life. During the closed training days of this tournament, it's all about training except for the tournament, so it's fun to talk to everyone in the live room."
--What are your plans for the future?
"I don't have too many specific plans for the future. However, what I can say for sure is that I will not choose to become a coach. Right now, I just want to play as many years as possible while I can still play soccer. If my ability no longer allows it, I will choose to retire and never drag the team down. For now, I hope to play for two more years."
-Why don't you want to be a coach?
"I don't want to be misguided and joke around. I don't think I'm a good fit for coaching because soccer has caused me to miss out on a lot of cultural learning. I'm worried that my delivery might be difficult for kids to understand."
--What are your goals for this season?
"My goal is simple, and that is to help the team win the Central League title under the leadership of the coach, and that's what I came to Kunshan for."
