Another new face has emerged in the wave of Chinese women's soccer teams fighting overseas. on August 30th, Li Mengwen, a Chinese women's soccer international, revealed to CCTV that she will soon be joining French giants Paris Saint-Germain women's soccer team on a loan deal.

However, on the very same day, Chelsea in the Premier League met a stubborn resistance from Southampton and lost 1-2, which not only marked the beginning of the team's losing streak on the road, but also marked the team's worst start to the first five rounds in six years.

Li Mengwen, a 27-year-old defender, currently plays for Jiangsu Women's Football Team. Her addition will be another Chinese women's soccer player to embark on the Paris journey after Wang Frost in the 2018-2019 season.

On her path to stay in the ocean, Li Mengwen said, "The desire to stay in the ocean has been a long time coming, and after the Olympics, the idea became stronger and stronger. At first, I planned to go to Italy, and after discussing with Joss, my former coach at Jiangsu, he unexpectedly suggested that I consider Paris. I was pleasantly surprised when I learned of this opportunity and felt I had to take advantage of it."

"Since August 5, I have reached an agreement with the Parisian side and have received a lot of support from the Jiangsu team, which has helped me immensely."

"At the beginning of the year, Wuhan had extended an olive branch to me, offering a generous salary and inviting me for two consecutive years. But staying in the ocean is a dream in my heart, and as long as there is an opportunity, I will choose to pursue it, and I hope to use it to broaden my horizons."

Li Mengwen also revealed that she had asked her senior Wang Frost for her experience before she left for Paris: "She said that language is the biggest challenge, and that French is mainly spoken over there in France, and that although my English is still basic, I intend to communicate with my coach in English first."

At present, China's women's soccer has many players active in European and American leagues, such as Wang Frost of the U.S. National League, Shen Menglu and Shen Mengyu of Celtic of the Scottish Premier League, Tang Jiali of the La Liga, as well as Zhang Linyan of the Swiss Women's Premier League.
