
Today, Wuxi Wu Hook Football Club of the China League Two announced in high profile that Wei Xin, a former core player of the Chinese national team, will assume the position of the team's head coach.
Wei Xin, born on April 18, 1975 in the mountainous city of Chongqing, has played for the Chongqing soccer team for many years, and in 2000, he led the Chongqing Lifan team to win the AFC Cup. In the national team, Wei Xin's brilliant years from 2001 to 2006, helped the Chinese team into the final round of the 2002 World Cup, and in the 2004 Asian Cup won the second place, becoming the pride of Chongqing soccer.
After retirement Wei Xin did not stop, in 2008 he transitioned to become a coach, first in charge of Chongqing Lifan coaching whip, leading the team to realize the dream of super. After that, he also served as assistant coach of the national junior team, U22 national team leader and coach, etc. From 2016 to 2019, during his tenure at Nantong Zhiyun Football Club, he brought the team into the ranks of the Central League.2020, Wei Xin returned to his hometown, back to Chongqing Contemporary Lifan FC, as the leader of the first-team team and the head of the Chinese coaching team.
