Recently, an explosive news spread across the internet, revealing that Vargas, a former Spaniard teammate of former Chinese player Wu Lei, who now plays for the team, will embark on a journey to join our Shanghai seaport. This move has attracted a lot of attention from the Korean media.
Vargas has reportedly reached an agreement to join the Chinese Super League's Shanghai Harbour for a transfer fee of up to €5 million.
Notably, Wu Lei has also confirmed his return to Shanghai Harbour. Vargas follows in Wu Lei's footsteps this time around, having also spent last season on loan in the Turkish league since joining the Spaniard in 2019 for a transfer fee of €10.5 million, during which he scored six goals.
However, the current Chinese Super League is facing a lot of difficulties, with major clubs in arrears and even a crisis of the league going into extinction. Brazilian star Oscar also tried to leave Shanghai Harbor, but failed to do so.
