The truth behind Dorado's heavy fines
An announcement from the CFA revealed the reasons for Dorado's harsh punishment, based on Articles 54 and 48 of the CFA Disciplinary Code. Specifically, the punishment is based on Article 54, supplemented by the relevant parts of Article 48.
Article 54 mainly targets "misconduct towards match officials", and details the penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct, such as the use of offensive language, insulting gestures, etc., with a minimum suspension of five matches and a fine of 50,000 yuan. Violent behavior (e.g., elbows, punches, etc.) carries a more severe penalty of at least a six-month suspension and a $100,000 fine.
Article 48 further clarifies the circumstances under which a heavier penalty is to be imposed, including when the offense occurs during a stoppage of play or a no-goal, when it causes bodily harm to an opponent, and when it retaliates against a complainant. Dorado's charging of the referee met these conditions.
Dorado's misbehavior not only led to his red card, but also caused injury to referee Maning. Maning was injured during the match, received treatment after the match and was unable to enforce the law in this weekend's Super League match. It is reported that Maning's injury is mainly focused on the shoulder, neck and waist.
Henan may terminate Dorado's contract
After realizing the seriousness of the incident, Henan Songshan Longmen Club issued a statement that night, saying that it accepted the FA's decision to punish and rectify the situation. The club also imposed retroactive penalties on Dorado, including fines, training suspensions, suspensions and even the termination of his contract.
Dorado has endured a year-long layoff since joining Henan Jianye in 2019. Although his contract is set to expire at the end of 2023, he only has four months left on his contract with Henan after the suspension period. Currently, the club is actively seeking a solution, but given the shortage of manpower in the team's forward line, the possibility of terminating the contract has increased.
As the transfer window is about to close, it is almost impossible for Henan to bring in high-level foreign strikers in a short period of time. As a result, the future relationship between Dorado and Henan becomes more and more confusing.
