With the UEFA Champions League qualification campaign now behind us, this season's UEFA Champions League Top 32 lineup has been finalized. As is customary, last season's Champions League winners, UEFA Cup winners and the six league champions at the top of the European table have been seeded in a total of eight seats. The secondary lineup includes giants such as Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona, Juve, Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur, with Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund among the three groups.
Given that this year's World Cup will start at the end of the year, the Champions League schedule is more intensive than ever. The group stage will start on September 6 and end on November 1; the knockout stage will start in February next year and the final will be played in Istanbul, Turkey. The UEFA Champions League group stage draw follows two major principles: avoidance of teams from the same soccer association and avoidance of teams in the same class.
Here are the teams for each group:
Group A: Ajax, Liverpool, Napoli, Rangers
Group B: Porto, Atletico Madrid, Leverkusen, Bruges
Group C: Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Pilsen Victory
Group D: Eintracht Frankfurt, Tottenham Hotspur, Sporting Portugal, Marseille
