In the low hours of the night, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) unveiled the 24-member selection list of the men's soccer team for the preparation of the East Asian Cup, in which renowned players Jiang Guangtai, Dai Weijun, Zhu Chenjie and Tan Long serve as the captains, while the rest of the members are all young and promising U23 international players.
In an official statement, the Football Association said that in order to fully prepare for the 2022 East Asian Football Confederation E-1 Championship and to strengthen the development of the national team's reserve force, the selection team began training in Qingdao on July 13, 2022, and plans to travel to Japan to participate in the tournament.
The select team is headed by Yankovic, the head coach of the U23 internationals, and the team will meet South Korea in its first match on July 20, face Japan on the 24th, and welcome Hong Kong on the 27th for the finale.
It is worth mentioning that Wu Xi, Zhang Linpeng and Zhang Yuning, who were originally expected to be selected for the selection team, were unable to participate in the tournament due to injuries.
