On July 14th, Beijing time, China's soccer governing body, the Football Association (FA), announced the latest punishment notice: Guangzhou Football Club's player, Efirdin, was found guilty of violating the rules for committing a violent action during the match, i.e., hitting the opponent's chest with his elbow. Accordingly, the FA decided to impose a three-match suspension and a fine of 30,000 RMB.
In the face of punishment, Efirdin responded on his personal social media microblogging: "I respect the FA's verdict, but also recognize my own misbehavior and the need for introspection. Currently, my main focus is on the Asian Youth Qualifiers and I hope to lead the team to a good result. Finally, thank you for your concern and support, and hey, don't worry, I have the money to pay the fine!"
