In the early morning of July 6, a piece of news made waves in the soccer circle: the much-anticipated second phase of the Chinese Super League will soon resume the home-and-away system. In response, veteran media personality Feng Zhen took to social media to express his sentiments, pointing out that although the league landscape is about to undergo a new change, Guangzhou's home ground is no longer the familiar Tianhe Stadium.
In the blink of an eye, on July 12, the first phase of the Chinese Super League will soon draw to a close. Up to now, the CFL has not yet announced the specific schedule for the second phase. According to internal sources, the second phase of the Super League is likely to be delayed until early August to make way for the East Asian Cup. The initial plan is to restart the tournament on August 6th. In addition, according to the spirit of the latest meeting of the CFA, if conditions allow, the program to restore the home and away system will also be advanced to the second stage of the league launch. Once the government departments where the Super League teams are located agree and the teams are financially sound, then the home games will be able to go ahead.
Feng Zhen further elaborated on his personal social media, "The home and away system will be restored soon, but Guangzhou's home ground has been shifted from Tianhe Stadium to Yuexiu Mountain. The Tianshi Stadium is undergoing renovation for higher profile athletics competitions, so Guangzhou will set up their home stadium in Panyu University Town. As to whether the Guangzhou team still has the ability to use Tianshi, that's another story."
