Wang Frost, who recently departed from Wuhan and embarked on a flight to Qingdao, marking her return to the
China women's national soccer team
The Journey.
At the beginning of this year's
Asian cup (e.g. soccer)
During the period, Wang Frost unfortunately suffered a fractured foot, and after the tournament began a long period of recuperation and recovery, which also made her miss the first two phases of the Women's Super League and the national team's training in Haikou from May 19 to June 6, which was held in Haikou.
Now, after a period of convalescence, Wang Frost has finally returned to the field and started training with the ball.
During the Asian Cup, Wang Frost's performance was perfect. In the first match against Chinese Taipei, she scored two goals; in the second match against Iran, which coincided with her 27th birthday, she scored again and offered a special gift for her birthday.
However, Wang Frost suffered an injury during the first match against Vietnam in the knockout stage. She recalled, "The pace of the game has been very high since the Tokyo Olympics preliminaries, and my body was very tired. I accidentally broke my foot when I was turning back in training."
Due to the seriousness of the New Crown Pneumonia epidemic in India, the team was unable to make a definitive diagnosis of Wang Frost's injury, and it wasn't until after she returned to her home country for a radiograph that it was learned that she had a fractured bone in her right foot.
Nonetheless, Wang Frost played with an injury in the final and reclaimed the Asian Cup title for the Chinese women's soccer team after a 16-year absence.
For the next nearly three months, Wang Frost underwent rehabilitation and special physical training at the Hubei Provincial Sports Bureau Football Sports Management Center. The road to recovery was full of hardships, but with her tenacity, she gradually transitioned from basic training to practicing with a ball.
"The recovery is not bad, but it will take some time to gel and adapt with my national teammates and head coach. I believe I can quickly adapt to the rhythm and technical and tactical requirements of the national team." Wang Frost said with confidence.
Cheng Yang, a rehabilitator at the Hubei Institute of Sports Science, said Wang Frost has been undergoing six weeks of specialized physical training, and judging from the test and evaluation data and weekly team matches, she has recovered her physical abilities well, with significant improvements in cardiorespiratory capacity, lower limb strength, running distance and acceleration distance.
Wang Frost, who has always harbored the dream of playing for her country, said that soccer has been with her for many years, allowing her to be known by more people, but all the attention, honors and praises are only personal. As a player, it is ultimately important to return to the national team and represent the country in the World Cup, the Olympics and other international arenas.
In May of this year, the Chinese women's soccer team announced a new training list in Haikou, and Wang Frost's name was listed. However, due to an unhealed injury, she was unable to participate in the training in Haikou.
On June 11, the Chinese team moved from Haikou to Qingdao to prepare for the upcoming East Asian Cup. Now, Wang Frost can finally return to the team and continue to contribute to the national team.
