On June 14, news came out of the Beijing time zone that midfield superstar Nguyen Quang Hai, a focal point of Vietnamese soccer, was left with a lot of mystery about his next home after his contract expired. It was once rumored that he might join Ligue 1's Nantes, then Japan's J-League's Kashima Antlers surfaced, and then Austria's Linz joined the fray. But until now, the 1997-born star's whereabouts remained a mystery. Nguyen Quang Hai and his agent have always claimed that they are eager to challenge themselves in a more advanced soccer environment and realize their dream of playing overseas.
Recently, former Hanoi FC player Nguyen Duc Vinh shared a photo with Nguyen Quang Hai in France on social media with the caption "still in No. 19", suggesting that Nguyen Quang Hai's overseas trip is likely to be destined for France. However, it is still unknown which team will be able to take in the Vietnamese soccer treasure.
Nguyen Quang Hai is regarded as one of the geniuses of Vietnamese soccer. His choice to study abroad is also in search of a higher competitive platform. In Vietnam's most recent match against Afghanistan, Nguyen Quang Hai started as a starter and struggled all the way to the end. It was also his first official match since April 2022, when he left Hanoi FC.
At the 31st Southeast Asian Games not long ago, Vietnam's head coach Park Hang-su had hoped that Nguyen Quang Hai would join the Vietnam U23 team as an overage player. However, Nguyen Quang Hai eventually declined the offer due to concerns about his health. (Edited by Aqua Soil)
