On May 21st, the Chinese Football Night program featured an interview with returning Brazilian player Alan.
Now a free agent, Allan has yet to reach an agreement with any team.
Alan revealed, "After speaking with Ackerson and Lok Kwok Foo, I think it will take time for them to adapt to the pace of the game, but I have full confidence in them and look forward to playing side by side in high level tournaments in the future.
Although several Brazilian clubs offered me an olive branch, I have been a free agent for a long time and could have chosen any team. For personal reasons, I turned down numerous offers from Brazilian teams, hoping to spend more time with my family and enjoy some peace and quiet.
On March 20, I received an urgent phone call from my wife from Brazil, who told me that my son suddenly had trouble breathing and had been taken to the hospital. I immediately notified the interpreter and decided to return home immediately. I couldn't leave my wife alone with two children. (Narrator: On the way back to China, Alan was in tears, and teammate Liu Dengzheng accompanied him all the way.)
I was a normal guy who didn't smoke, drink or party hard, and when I couldn't fulfill my responsibilities of caring for my family, I felt like my life was lost.
They gave me a lot of help during my time with the Guangzhou team, and we would enjoy barbecues together on weekends. At that time, I was in less than 50% of my form, and all I could think about was my wife and kids, so I couldn't devote myself to the soccer game.
