Qingdao Daily reported that the Qingdao soccer team, which had fallen to the Central League, officially sent a letter to the Municipal Sports Bureau and the Municipal Football Sports Management Center on the 12th, elaborating on the reasons for the team's withdrawal from the Chinese Professional Football League.
In Qingdao Football Club's withdrawal from the Chinese Professional Football League situation statement, the club revealed that in the 2020-2021 season, as a new force in the Chinese Super League, the team faced a huge shortage of funds. This, coupled with the private loan debts left behind by the previous shareholders, has left the club with a heavy burden, even leading to accounts being blocked, and adversely affecting the investor, Yellow Sea Group. At the same time, two seasons of anti-epidemic normalization and the centralized match system of the Chinese Super League, as well as the implementation of the "neutral name" policy, the club's operational situation has worsened, and a number of sponsorships did not arrive, which ultimately led to the team's unfortunate relegation in the 2021 season.
Considering the club's current operational difficulties and inability to support the current situation, we have to regretfully announce our decision to withdraw from the Chinese Professional Football League.
In the future, the club will focus on the development of youth training and school soccer, and expresses its heartfelt thanks to all sectors of the community for their care, help and support, and looks forward to a longer road of development and more brilliant achievements in Qingdao soccer.
In the face of Qingdao Football Club's withdrawal, the relevant person from the Municipal Football Administration Center said, "Although we feel very sorry, we will work with the Municipal Football Association and the club to properly handle the follow-up matters of the professional team. As for the club's desire to continue to devote itself to soccer, we will give our full support to help it make progress in soccer tournaments and youth training at all levels."
