However, in the second half, Li Tixiang scored a goal, but it was not counted due to a controversial penalty, and Dalian People had the last laugh with a score of 2-0.
The match came to an end, but Guangzhou City Club could not hold back their injustice and submitted a protest to the CFA. They pointed out that the Dalian team's substitution operation in the match was suspected to be illegal, violating the rules of the Chinese Super League, and accordingly requested the CFA to invalidate the match for the Dalian People's Team.

At 19:30 on June 8, Haikou Wuyuanhe Stadium hosted a match between Dalian Ren and Guangzhou City in the 2nd round of the Chinese Super League.
In the 67th minute of the match, Dalian Ren made their first substitution, with non-U23 player Wu Wei replacing Huang Jiahui, the only U23 player on the pitch. Then in the 69th minute, Dalian made another change in the lineup, with U23 players Wang Tengda and Zhao Jianbo coming on as substitutes.
This process resulted in a minute-long period on the field without a U23 player in service. According to Article 10.9 of the 2022 CFA Super League Regulations, each team is required to have at least one U23 player on the field, unless due to special circumstances such as injury or red card. If this provision is violated, the club will face the penalty of match invalidation, and the CFA Disciplinary Committee will also impose additional penalties depending on the severity of the circumstances.
It is worth mentioning that before the match, CFA did not inform Dalian Ren Club about the U23 players' reduction and compensation policy. Therefore, our club strongly protested against the use of U23 players by Dalian Ren in the match and formally applied to the CFA to rule that the match was forfeited by Dalian Ren.
