Shocking news has come out of Seoul, South Korea: one of the biggest stars of Iraqi soccer, former international footballer Haydar Razak, has been subjected to a sudden and violent attack.

The Iraqi news channel reported on the 5th that the 40-year-old former Iraqi international footballer was tragically attacked in Baghdad recently and eventually died of his injuries.

According to informed sources, on the last day of the month, Haidar Razzaq was attacked by five unidentified persons somewhere in Baghdad. The victim, Haidar, was rushed to the hospital after being beaten with an iron pipe and other weapons, but failed to be rescued because of a skull fracture and internal bleeding.

There is still no clarity about the exact motive for the attack. As soon as the news of Haidar Razzaq's passing was announced, the Iraqi Football Association expressed its deep condolences. Haidar Razzaq was the pride of Iraqi soccer, and since his first selection for the national team in 2001, he had won numerous honors for Iraqi soccer with his outstanding performance and loyalty, including the glorious moment when he won the Asian Cup with the team in 2007.
