On June 6, as the Chinese women's soccer team's intense training in Haikou came to an end, the team moved to Qingdao on the 11th, ready to prepare for the upcoming East Asian Cup Women's Soccer Championship to be held in Japan in July. At this critical juncture, the Chinese women's soccer coaching team welcomed a heavyweight - former national soccer goalkeeper coach Au Chuliang, whose joining will bring new vitality to the women's soccer goalkeeper training.
Au Chuliang's name has long been familiar to Chinese fans. As one of the top players in the domestic professional league, he was the pride of the national soccer team and has won wide acclaim from the industry for both his on-field performance and professionalism. Au Chuliang has not only been teaching soccer at the grassroots level, but he has also been the trusted choice of the Football Association, shuttling between national teams at all levels and advising on preparation for matches.
Currently in the Haikou base, the Chinese women's soccer team has three goalkeepers, Pan Hongyan, Zhu Yu and Xu Huan. Facing a brand new challenge, Au Chuliang revealed, "Although this is my first time to join the women's soccer coaching team, I am not a stranger to this team. In addition to the existing goalkeepers, I will also select more potential goalkeepers for evaluation."
According to the arrangement, the Chinese women's football team will take a short break after finishing the training in Haikou and regroup in Qingdao on June 11 to prepare for the East Asian Cup Women's Football Championship to be held from July 19 to 27 in Japan. The team is expected to leave for Japan on July 16th or 17th to make a final push for the tournament.
