The Chinese Super League (CSL) season was in full swing last weekend, and the first round of the tournament was a hotly contested affair, with two current internationals and a former international leaving the field with red dyes in the match.

In the opening match between Shandong Taishan and Zhejiang, Shandong player Zheng Zheng was sentenced to leave the game after he fell to the ground and stomped on Zhejiang's foreign aid; in the match between Shanghai seaport and Wuhan Yangtze River, newcomer Xu Xin kicked Hu Jinghang when he scrambled for the overhead ball, and also received a red card; in the match between Beijing Guoan and Cangzhou Lions, Guoan captain Zhang Chendong also received a red card after he fell down on the opponent when defending against the opponent's single cut.

Senior media person Ma Dexing said Zheng Zheng and Xu Xin's foul behavior has gone beyond the scope of technical and tactical, and both are assisted by VAR technology, the referee to watch the replay before showing the red card.

Bluntly, the two red cards were inappropriate, especially when the international players made such a move on the field. However, in such an environment, the personal behavior of the players, especially the actions of the two active international players, undoubtedly bring more negative emotions to Chinese soccer.

More importantly, the fact that the Chinese Super League was able to restart at such a difficult time is a miracle in itself. It is thought-provoking that the internationals, who should have played a positive role, are subjecting Chinese soccer to more accusations from the outside world due to their personal mistakes. It has been observed that the two red cards could lead to additional punishment by the CFA Disciplinary Committee.
