On May 27th, the CFA officially announced that Dalian People's Football Club will join the new season of the Chinese Super League and Shanghai Jiading Huilong Football Club will join the new season of the Chinese First League. At the same time, the CFA made it clear that it would no longer arrange for teams to join the new season of the Chinese B League by replacement, and decided to give up the 2003 age group U19 National Youth Football Team to participate in the Chinese B League. In the new season, the Chinese Super League, Chinese A League and Chinese B League will implement the "18-team scale" to ensure that the competition in the league is fair. A reporter from Beijing Youth Daily revealed that the reasons for the FA's final decision to cancel the U19 National Youth Football Team's participation in the China B League are complicated. In the future, the Association will not rule out the possibility of assisting national youth teams at all levels to play through overseas training.
After confirming that the Chinese Super League is replacing the Dalian Ren team, the question of whether to replace teams in the new season's Chinese League A and Chinese League B has also troubled the organizers. The main reason for this is the different policies of the three professional leagues in China, especially the fact that no foreign aid can be used in the B league.
According to sources, during the discussion, a proposal was made to allow the 2001 age group U21 national youth team to participate in the Central League. If this proposal comes to fruition, the Chinese League A will maintain the size of 18 teams. The second league will not have any replacement teams and will maintain the original plan of "20 teams".
However, this proposal was eventually abandoned. The 2003 age group U19 National Youth Football Team, which was scheduled to participate in the China B League, was also scheduled to withdraw. The organizers may agree that Shanghai Jiading Huilong, the 7th place team in the Central B League, will be substituted to join the Central A League, while no more teams will be substituted in the Central B League.
In fact, the Football Association had originally considered allowing some of the national teams to join the corresponding level of the league, with the intention of providing the teams with more practical opportunities during the epidemic. However, the inclusion of national teams in professional club competitions may affect competition. For example, the new season of the China B League will not start until July at the earliest. And the 2003 age group U19 national youth team will go to Saudi Arabia to participate in the U20 Asian Cup qualifier in September this year. The schedules of the two tournaments may be in conflict, if the U19 national youth team to participate in the B League, halfway to play outside the country, may affect the operation of the league. Therefore, it makes sense to give up the national team to play the league program. The Football Association will also consider other ways to assist the national team to play, and may even arrange for the U21 and U19 national youth teams to go abroad for training and competition.
