At this day's Focus News Conference, the preparatory team of China's professional soccer league analyzed in depth the details of the preparations for the upcoming 2022 season of the Chinese Super League, the scheduling of matches, and anti-epidemic measures, and responded positively to the focus of the media's attention. At the conference, key figures such as Shi Qiang, head of the CFL preparatory team, Liu Jun, deputy head and chairman of the CSL company, as well as Guo Bingyan, head of competition, and Liu Jie, head of operations, made their appearances.
Today, the Chinese Super League officially unveiled the first phase of the new season's schedule. Guo Bingyan elaborated on the divisional strategy and fixture system, emphasizing that the current league will adhere to the complete system, striving to complete 34 rounds with a total of 306 matches in four phases using the 10+8+8+8 system.
The first stage will be a tournament system, with a subsequent plan to return to a home-and-away system, but with considerable difficulty. Of the three divisions in the second and third stages, the top two seeds will keep their divisions intact, while the other four teams will rotate divisions. By the final stage, the schedule and divisions will be reorganized.
The four phases of the tournament are tentatively scheduled to run from June 3 to July 12, July 21 to August 21, August 30 to September 30, and October 9 to November 9, ensuring that they are all completed before the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
