At a special meeting today, the Chinese Football League (CFL) Preparatory Team explained the details of the preparations for the 2022 season of the Chinese Super League (CSL), including the schedule of matches, anti-epidemic measures, and recent high-profile issues. Participants included Shi Qiang, head of the CFL's preparatory team, Liu Jun, deputy head of the team and chairman of the CSL, as well as Guo Bingyan, head of competition, and Liu Jie, head of operations.

The 2022 Chinese Super League season will kick off on June 3 in the three major cities of Haikou, Meizhou and Dalian, and the tournament will be divided into four stages. The specific dates are June 3 to July 12, July 21 to August 21, August 30 to September 30, and October 9 to November 9, for a total of 10+8+8+8 rounds of matches.

Regarding the schedule of the FA Cup, Guo Bingyan revealed that the FA Cup matches are planned to be played after the league tournament, which will also be held in the country during the Qatar World Cup.

In response to the question of whether home and away matches will be resumed this year, Shi Qiang responded that the original plan to resume home and away matches was changed to the match system due to the epidemic. The first phase of the Chinese Super League has adopted the match system, once the conditions allow, the preparatory team will strive to restore the home and away system, even if it can not be fully restored, but also will choose some of the matches to try, with a view to accumulating experience for the future of the epidemic home and away system of matches.
