
On May 24th, the night was low, the Chongqing Football Association officially issued a clear response on the dissolution of Chongqing Two Rivers Athletic Football Club.
The official statement is below:
Early the following morning, Chongqing Liangjiang Athletic Football Club publicly issued a notice about withdrawing from the Chinese Super League and suspending its operations, a news that sent ripples through all levels of society and soccer fans.
Since 2016, all the players, coaches and logistic team of the club have been devoted to the soccer game, and have made great efforts for the team's construction, training, matches as well as protection, contributing positively to the professional soccer in Chongqing.
However, due to various reasons, the club's operation is in trouble. The Chongqing Football Association, based on its own business management experience, understands and regrets this decision.
Since 2019, the Chongqing Football Association has always been committed to promoting the development of professional soccer, and has assisted the club in coordinating resources and giving support on several occasions, including following the characteristics of professional soccer and the laws of the market economy, helping the club to carry out shareholding reforms, maintaining basic operations and exploring new opportunities for cooperation and development.
