In the latest report, South Korean player Son Junho from Shandong Taishan revealed that his biggest dream this year is to stand on the green field of the World Cup in Qatar.
In the 2021 season, Son Jungho moved from Jeonbuk to Shandong Taishan of the Chinese Super League, where his performance was good enough to win the K-League MVP award. After joining Shandong Taishan, he helped the team win the Chinese Super League title as well as the AFC Cup double.
Although Premier League teams Southampton and Fulham both showed strong interest in Sun Junho during the winter break, he ultimately chose to extend his contract with Shandong Taishan.
It is worth noting that Son Jun-ho played for the South Korean national team, participating in the Top 40 and Top 12 matches of the Asian qualifying rounds of the World Qualifying Tournament, racking up 151 minutes of action. However, he has not played for the national team since the home match against Lebanon last September.
As June approaches, the South Korean national team will soon begin preparations for the World Cup in Qatar, with warm-up matches against Brazil, Chile and Paraguay now confirmed. Nonetheless, the CFL schedule has yet to be announced, and there are reports that Son Junho is expected to be selected for the national team, but there has been no official confirmation so far. The 2022 Chinese Super League season is expected to begin on June 3, and Sun's departure will undoubtedly have a major impact on Shandong Taishan.
