The Passionate Battle: The Classic Matchup from Two Years Ago

Not Shenhua, not Guangzhou, not the harbor, but the 2020 AFC Cup, which has made millions of people's hearts pound.

The Youth Army beat Chengdu Xingcheng by a narrow margin of 1-0. That junior team, showing the old

With the 01 age group as the base, the team drew the Philippine champions in the group stage, which once again aroused concern. In the new season, a total of nine players from the 01 and 02 age groups have joined the first team, including Liang Shaowen and Ruan Qilong, making this year's first team already have 14 players from the youth training system, a record high since Zhonghe became the owner.

During the era, the development of youth training has been hindered due to the limitations of educational resources and bases. After Zhonghe took over, according to the requirements of the Football Association, the bases were moved back to Beijing, and now they are distributed in Shunyi, Dongcheng and Fengtai, and they have vigorously developed youth training in the past five years.

national security

The youth training system has been perfected, with six units from u21 to u13 and a total of more than 200 players. Although the problems of education and bases still exist, the youth training has achieved remarkable results and is developing in the right direction.

national security

Youth training adopts the Dutch system, hires foreign managers as operation director and youth training director, and cooperates with Chinese coaches to create the top youth training academy in China. Launched the youth training manual, clear "mission" and "vision", aiming to cultivate useful people to society, to become the top youth training academy in China, to provide a safe and good learning and training environment for players.

national security

Youth training is closely related to the development trend of modern soccer, introducing special coaches and sports performance coaches, and adopting advanced data management system, so that the coaches can have a pad in hand to update the training and players' information on a daily basis. The continuous development of youth training has provided a base for the emergence of outstanding young players, making the age structure of the team more reasonable and providing a base for the first team to renew and replace.

national security

Youth training retains the valuable experience and methods of the past five years and opens up to the community to promote the development of soccer in Beijing and fulfill its social responsibility. Recently, the Beijing youth soccer training organization Love Kickers went to the

national security

An exchange with Director of Youth Training Patrick Larderoux, who shared many valuable insights and experiences.

Soccer:

When you came to Beijing in 2018.

national security

What is the state of youth training?

Lladró:

national security

At that time, most of the outings were losses, including matches against Luneng, Shanghai and Hebei, as well as against Beijing Sanko.

national security

All were losses, even big losses. Back in the day, the three high schools had a better training base and youth unit organization than the

national security

to be good. At the time

national security

Basically each unit was 35 players, which was too many for me, so I sent 60 players away in the first two months after I came because these players may have been in the unit for various reasons, but the standard was really too low.

Another change is in work habits. In terms of the coaches' previous routine, there was no preparation before training, and after training, perhaps they went back to their room, locked the door and went back and forth to sleep constantly, and every day it was the training ground - the room such a working routine, which is hard for me to understand, and I expect to bring Ajax's working environment over here, and we have created a studio in the Shunyi base where the coaches can We created a studio in Shunyi where the coaches can go to work and interact on a daily basis, including preparing their training and giving meetings to their coaching staff, which maybe these coaches have never experienced before - going to their studio every day like normal employees. They need to take a lunch break at noon, and I respect this Chinese custom, but after the lunch break they still have to go back to the studio to continue their preparation and study.

Soccer:

How did the vision for the youth training come about?

Mission, vision and philosophy can not be accomplished in one day or two days, I had many exchanges with Mr. Li Ming Li back then, including Mr. Zhang (Zhang Zhijun) before that, there are many exchanges to really determine what is our mission, vision and philosophy, which should be combined with the Beijing

national security

This club, the city of Beijing to formulate. Beijing is the capital of China as Amsterdam is to the Netherlands. In Holland, the people of Amsterdam might be a little bit proud, Rotterdam is a harbor city, they are very strong, always a fighting group of people, the people of Eindhoven are very friendly and friendly to everyone else, and these are things that are going to be carried over into their own clubs, and it's all some of the dna of the club.

Soccer:

The most important function of youth training is to serve the first team, what is the current situation?

The first team manager is always going to be directly connected to the youth academy, because the future team is a direct route to the first team, and they can only succeed in the first team if they are in the same system. Take Feyenoord for example, the level of Feyenoord's youth academy is the same as Ajax's, but before 2011 or 12, they never let their youth players have a chance in the first team, or perhaps let them finally be able to stand in the first team.In 2012, Feyenoord had a financial situation, and they started to let their youth players have a chance to play in the first team, now we Now we see more and more youth players coming out of Feyenoord, and in the future China will also have more and more youth players going to the first team to play.

All over the world, Ajax has had the most successful youth training, sending the largest number of their own youth players to major clubs around the world. For them, the last step, that is, the step of getting players from youth training to the first team, Ajax has done very well. The two players Bayern wanted to buy this year were both trained by Ajax. I believe the future

national security

The systems of the first team and the youth unit will definitely be aligned, and it will be very simple for the players to go up to the first team, and there will be a steady stream of young players coming out of the first team.

Soccer:

Can you tell me about it?

national security

Is there a coaching organization in the youth training system? I've heard that there is also a special organization for sports performance coaches?

LADROUX: Sports performance is a sports science discipline, and the term sports performance was coined in Europe a long time ago, and a sports performance coach is different from a physical fitness coach. A sports performance coach will analyze data to determine the intensity of training in order to guide training, develop training programs, and provide daily advice to the head coach. In Holland, the u8 unit already uses sports performance coaches.

Besides that, we will do some judo training. When we were at the Shunyi base, we had hired a wrestling coach to train the coordination of the younger players, but Chinese kids are more introverted by personality. If we were to hire a judo teacher, he would also need some background in soccer, or some soccer experience. Or it's true that there are very few people looking for physical fitness coaches with a soccer background these days, but people like Luke and Michelle (who now work for the

national security

) The two sports performance coaches, both of whom have soccer backgrounds, trained as coaches in Europe and have coaching licenses.

On top of that, we previously had a Director of Goalie Coaching who ran all the troop's goalie coaches, and he came to the

national security

It's been very productive since then, and it seems to me that the current

national security

The goalkeepers of each troop are the most improved group of all the youth players, and this is because of the great attention given to them by the Director of Goalkeeper Coaching. Not only do they have daily main sessions, but these goalies also have extra practices two to three times a week before or after practice with their coaches.

Jason serves as the program for Elite Player Training, which focuses on Stage III troops. The first stage is pre-developmental kids, 8 to 12 years old; the second stage is 13 to 16 years old, they are growing and developing; and then 17 years old and then older troops, the developmental completion stage. Chinese children's development stage is still relatively normal, like Ajax players, because there are some African players, maybe 12 or 13 years old already have some signs of a seasoned man.

Soccer:

What is the definition of an elite player?

It is our assessment that there is a hope to enter Beijing.

national security

The first team players, Jason, are individually trained to help them develop the skills they need. After the player reaches the third stage, when they have completed their development, or when their position has been determined, if the player is to play as a right back, we have a clear record in the handbook, including the player's CV, and the characteristics that the right back needs to have, such as a 10 meter sprint in a few seconds or less, with a clear number. This can help these elite players to go through individual training. At the moment, six or seven players are training with the first team every day, joining the first team, and the club has renewed the contracts of the young players, which I think is fruitful.

Soccer:

How do foreign and Chinese coaches work together?

We want to help the Chinese coaches grow and progress. Generally teams are able to hire some foreign head coaches and foreign assistant coaches between these two or three years for the sake of performance, but when a team leaves, nothing is left behind, they take everything away and the Chinese coaches don't grow and progress. So now we have the first stage team, the second stage team, the third stage team, including the sports performance and the goalkeeper, all of them are headed by expatriates, but all the head coaches and assistant coaches of the teams, including the sports performance coach and the goalkeeper coach, are Chinese coaches, the meaning is that the expatriate coaches come here to help the Chinese coaches to make progress. Just mentioned Luke and Michelle, they now brought out three Chinese sports performance coaches, two of them have a degree from the Beijing Sports University, and one of them has previously studied sports science at the University of Scotland.

In 2018, I just came

national security

when

national security

The u21 was being led by two German coaches, the club didn't renew their contracts in 2018, and I then brought in Stanley Menzo, previously a very well known goalkeeping coach at Ajax, the same guy who led the

national security

The head coach of the team that beat Chengdu in the F.A.C. Cup, his foreign assistant was Jan Govic, who had previously played for Dalian, and now that both coaches have left, the head coach of this year's u21s is Sui Dongliang, who has been in the

national security

Troop coaching, after going through these four years, this year had the opportunity to become the head coach of the u21.

Our team did

national security

Youth coaching manuals, because sooner or later, the foreign coaches will leave China, and having these will leave the industry for the clubs.

Soccer:

What is the organization like at each stage of the youth training process?

LADROW: For example, if I'm the coach of a younger age group team, and my theme for the week is offense, and the offensive first zone is my focus, then during the weekend's games, I'm only going to be looking at how the player is doing in the offensive first zone, not so much the whole game, like playing poorly in the midfield and the goalie making a lot of mistakes, and if the coach goes over those topics with that age group at that point. For them is very much information, will make them happen a lot of confusion, the player is at a loss.

I do expect all coaches to have a disciplined practice regimen, game regimen, where this week you're practicing the offensive first zone, then you're going to focus on how well the players are doing in the offensive first zone during the game. Because after it's broken down to a certain point, you go to the players and tell them what you practiced in practice and what came up in the game, the players will have more clarity.

Soccer:

How do you conduct internal evaluations?

We have different evaluation programs, such as an internal scouting report, which evaluates the development of our own players, a goalie-specific scouting report, and an external scouting report, such as when we see a good player on another team in some tournament, we will write a report and submit it to the technical department for evaluation.

Soccer:

Will the coach be evaluated?

Four quarters a year, the head coach will evaluate the coaching team, including his assistant coaches, goalie coaches, team doctors, etc., and also give his players to score for evaluation, and then it will be summarized to Yang Pu and me for final evaluation, so the evaluation will be conducted once every quarter, four times a year.

Soccer:

Are there going to be some changes in coaching?

When I first came, each training session is two hours, but perhaps most of the time is the coach is explaining the training to the players, perhaps the players at that time more want to go to carry out the training, but they are a long time to go there to listen to the training. So I told the coach to change, training time is just one and a half hours, this one and a half hours must have high efficiency, before the training you have to do all the training preparation, put the venue are set up, so that the whole training progress efficiency. Then you have to know in training, when to stop, when to guide the players, guidance point is what, these are all to be prepared before training.

I go to every training session so I can see exactly how long the trainer has been training and how well they're training, and then we have regular coaching meetings twice a week where the athletic performance coaches go in together and review the training plans, the training programs with the coaches. For example, if the program is not suitable for today, or the size of the field is not suitable, or the intensity is too high or too low, these are the issues that the Director of Sports Performance and I will discuss with the coaches.

Soccer:

What's the most important thing about players?

You have to give all the players a chance in the game, because for the youth players, growth and development is the most important thing, not that to get any results in a short period of time, so try to let every player get the same playing time in every game. Because at the end of the year, some players may face elimination, and when you go to talk to the parents about termination, you tell them that your child is not good enough, but the parents may say to you, my child did not even get the opportunity to play and perform, and did not get enough time to manifest themselves, and that's not convincing at all. For me, the youth academy is more than just eight units, I see that we have more than 200 players and I see each one of them individually, what their shining points are and what their deficiencies are. That's my understanding of youth training.

Soccer:

Knowing more and more about the state of youth training in our country, what do you think are the biggest shackles on club youth training?

Match program is very important, I once served as Ajax u13 troops, you have to be clear about the whole year's program, in Beijing and perhaps all of China do not have a very good tournament system. In Holland, at the beginning of each year, each team already knows their annual program, each age group has its own league, there is a policy of promotion and relegation. In the Netherlands, if the journey is set, for example, this day you play home, the next day to play away, will never change, basically will not change this year.

But at the moment we have forces that maybe have alterations in their fixtures every week, maybe a few days before the match they say that this match can't be played, or maybe there is a problem with the field, or maybe some other situation. The system of matches is very important for a ladder team, and precisely this is not done. In addition, there are
