In the early morning hours of April 27, a heated discussion was created on the internet around Zhang Yuning's heated accusations against the self-publishing media. Veteran media personality Xu Jiang also weighed in on the storm of public opinion, taking to social media to be outspoken, pointing out that none of the national team players who lost against Vietnam deserved to be celebrated.

Xu Jiang put it this way on social media: "Although Zhang Yuning has left me with a good impression of going all out and playing steadily over the past two years, the 1-3 scoreline in the national team's match against Vietnam compels me to suggest that every player in the national team should not be given praise! If players are given praise for just one loss against Vietnam, then I worry that the values of soccer in our country have wavered, and that is certainly worrisome! What, exactly, should we be praising?"

Facing the feedback from netizens, Xu Jiang also responded by evaluating the performance of the international players in the Top 12 from his personal point of view, arguing that players such as Zhu Chenjie, Zhang Linpeng, and Zhang Yuning poured their best efforts into the game, but for him, these efforts were not enough to earn them praise.
