On April 27th in Beijing, Shandong Taishan faced Daegu FC in the fifth round of the group stage of the Asian Football Champions League. Looking back at the first meeting between the two teams, Shandong Taishan suffered a heartbreaking loss with a score of 0-7. In the 69th minute of the first leg, Lamas initiated a long pass at the back of the field, and substitute Jung Ji-in scored his sixth goal for Daegu with a clever pick and roll shot from the right side of the penalty spot against a counterattack from Shandong Taishan.

At the pre-match press conference, Jung Jiren confessed, "We have just completed two tough matches against Urawa Red Diamonds, the next two matches are equally crucial and we will do our best to win both of them to move up to the top position in the group."
