On April 20, Shenzhen Football Club's Brazilian foreign aid player Caldecott announced that he had terminated his contract with the team. Tianjin Daily analyzed that if the Shenzhen team could not solve the issue of Caldecott's salary, they might face the penalty of transfer ban.

In an interview, Caldecott said: "These years in China were extremely valuable for me, the Chinese people and fans gave me and my family a great welcome and it will be a time I will never forget. Unfortunately, my trip to China ended in a way I didn't want it to. However, as a professional player, I did not feel the respect I deserved and had no choice but to terminate my contract. I left my mark on China, whether it was goals, stats or records. Now it's time to move on and take on the next challenge in my career."

Caldecott left the Shenzhen team for a variety of reasons. On the one hand, the "salary cap" policy implemented by the CFA made it impossible for the limited budget Shenzhen team to continue to pay his high salary, and the breakup of the two seemed to be inevitable. On the other hand, Caldecott revealed that the Shenzhen team owed him up to five months of wages, he plans to appeal to FIFA. If this issue is not resolved, Shenzhen could face serious consequences in the form of a transfer ban.
