On April 19th, at the dawn of the morning, Sichuan Jiuniu soccer team welcomed a new member - Zou Zheng. The 34-year-old soccer veteran officially signed a contract with the team, which not only marks another harvest of Sichuan JiuNiu's reinforcement work in the new season, but also a milestone in the team's construction process.
Zou Zheng, a fierce left back who started his soccer career with Qingdao Zhongneng, made his mark as a starter in the Chinese Super League and the Chinese League One from 2010 to 2014, and in 2015, he moved to Guangzhou to start a new chapter in his career. During his years at Guangzhou, Zou Zheng grew into one of the top left backs in the country, helping the team win the AFC Champions League, the Chinese Super League and the AFC Cup once each. On the national team stage, Zou Zheng was also selected several times and contributed to our men's soccer team in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers.In 2019, Zou Zheng moved to Guangzhou City, while he played for Qingdao on loan in the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
Zou Zheng's soccer career can be described as a rich history of fighting. In the Club World Cup, AFC Champions League, Chinese Super League, FA Cup and other top tournaments, he accumulated 236 appearances, scored 11 goals and assisted 8 times, showing his outstanding soccer talent.
