In the just concluded Football Night program, the plight of salary arrears prevalent among Chinese Super League teams was analyzed in depth. During the program, Wen Xiaoting, the head of Guizhou Football Club, personally promised to ensure that every player will be able to collect the salary owed to them.
Although Guizhou failed to qualify for the new season of the Central League, the team accumulated a total of 60 to 70 million dollars in unpaid wages. Former Guizhou star Yang Ting revealed in the program, "The entire team, including coaches and foreign aid, totaled 60 to 70 million, or two to three million per capita."
Talking about the reasons for the loss of access, Wen was blunt: "What really disqualified us was the FIFA ruling case against Steve, due to which we were penalized to a certain extent. As for why the case was not resolved, the reasons are well known and involve complications at the operational level as well as irregularities by the agent behind the player. The club suffered huge losses as a result of this, and we appealed to FIFA several times, but the final result was not optimistic. We will continue to respect the decision of the Football Association with regard to the victim's sentence that was not due to our responsibility."
In addition, Wen Xiaoting conveyed her firm confidence to the players in the program, "All investors of our company and group recognize the amount of all salary arrears, and we have been actively communicating with the players and have reached a third-party payment agreement to ensure that the players' salaries will be paid regardless of whether the team survives or not."
She emphasized, "Our investors and group companies will provide guarantees for all players. Therefore, whether the players leave your state team or not, or even if the team is disbanded, their hard-earned money will be guaranteed. I don't know if other clubs will do the same, but that's what your Guizhou team is doing."
