On April 13th in Beijing time zone, Kang Sang-woo, a newly joined member of the South Korean former national team, revealed in an interview that the head coach of Guoan team told him in an exchange that the first foreign aid he sought after taking office was himself.

After completing his quarantine program in Xiamen, Kang Sang-woo will soon leave for Beijing to join up with Guoan for the upcoming Chinese Super League season. In the interview, Kang Sang-woo recalled, "Last week I had a video communication with Xie Feng, the head coach of Guoan team, who told me that at the beginning of his taking over the coaching position of Guoan team, he regarded me as the prime candidate for the introduction of foreign aid."

Talking about his expectations for the Chinese Super League, Kang Sang-woo firmly stated, "I'm not here to play, I know my mission as a foreigner. As in the K-League, I will show my strength in Beijing."

Speaking about his current physical condition, Kang Sang-woo revealed, "I do have some concerns, but the launch date of the Super League has not yet been set and it seems that I will have to wait for another month. I believe that I will be able to return to my best form during this time."
