--What are the features of the barrier facility?

"The purpose-built segregated hotel rooms are spacious and ornately decorated, and the apartment I am currently living in, although a normal house with a kitchen and bathroom, sadly lacks a refrigerator. The apartment manager explained that there is no refrigerator and that there is CCTV monitoring equipment outside the door of each room."

--How is the diet for living in my country?

"While in the hotel, I usually skipped breakfast and enjoyed ramen, instant rice and canned food brought from Korea for lunch. Before I left, I carried enough food to last me three weeks, which led to overweight luggage and having to pay extra for check-in. Aside from lunch, I relied heavily on takeout for dinner, which could only be ordered once a day between 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. in the segregated apartment. I usually ordered Korean food through the interpreter provided by the team, and while the hotel provided lunch, it was at an additional cost and was not nutritious enough. When I came to the isolation apartment, I started to return to my normal diet and the food conditions here were unexpected and I am sure I will soon be able to adapt to the Beijing diet."

--What do you want to do most after segregation is over?

"I'm eager to play soccer, even if it's just jogging around the practice field, it feels like I'm back in a training camp where I can use my cell phone freely. You want to know what daily life is like in a segregated apartment? That's what it is: wake up, eat, do the dishes, then go to bed and repeat the process the next day."

--How is the schedule organized after the end of segregation?

"First of all, I arrived in Beijing and had a day's rest, after which I joined the team for pre-season preparations. I was in constant contact with the interpreter about the team's schedule and the interpreter took care of everything."

--How is your health after a long time of not training?

"I do worry, but the start date of the Chinese Super League has not been finalized yet, it's about a month away and that's enough for me. I can't wait for the start of the Super League and I hope to arrive in Beijing soon, it feels like I'm on Jeju Island. At the moment my plan is to arrive safely in Beijing first, and as a foreigner coming to play in China, I hope to show what I did in Pohang Steelers. Last week, I had a video call with the head coach of the Guoan team, who understood the difficulties of living in isolation and gave me support. He told me that the first foreigner he asked to sign since he took over as head coach was me." (Edited by Liu Shuitu)
