Today, March 9, Beijing time, China's women's soccer head coach Shui Qingxia was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the School of Management of Fudan University. On the scene, Shui Qingxia had an in-depth exchange with Mr. Lu Xiongwen, Dean of the School of Management of Fudan University, and Mr. Chen Qiwei, Founder of Asian Business Group.

Shui Qingxia firstly shared her feelings about her soccer career: "From player to coach, I have spent 40 years on the soccer field. The reason why I persevered is only because of my love for soccer. This time as the head coach of the national team, the end of the Asian Cup unexpectedly harvested a warm response, so today I come to share our little stories in the game."

Talking about the spirit of "Clanging Roses", Shui Qingxia said: "It was only in the 1999 World Cup that our generation started to be called Clanging Roses. At that time, Tian Zhen's song "Clanging Roses" was very popular, and it matched the spirit of our women's soccer team, so it has been used ever since. Clang represents positivity, and rose is to show the spirit of our female soccer players, and this spirit of tenacity and perseverance is the best interpretation of Clanging Roses."

Speaking about her experience as head coach of the women's soccer team, Shui Qingxia confessed, "Although the perception of women has been greatly improved, I still faced questions after taking up the post. Some people questioned whether women were competent and whether they had the right qualities. Against this backdrop, coaching the national team was a big challenge for me, and it was also related to my personality. I am happy to accept the pressure and rise to the challenge."

Regarding the coaching philosophy of the national team, Shui Qingxia emphasized, "When selecting players, the sense of honor and responsibility is the primary consideration. Technically, I focus on high-intensity confrontation and believe that our women's soccer team is deficient in physical confrontation and high-intensity confrontation. Modern soccer is about fast-paced confrontation and offense-defense transition, and data is also an important means to test the team's combat effectiveness. In terms of tactical selection, I like the 343 formation, which is both beautiful and flexible, and requires aggressiveness in both offense and defense. In player selection, I focus on fairness and impartiality, based on strength, and choose players who have the will to go to war for their country."

Shui Qingxia also mentioned the importance of psychological counseling: "In the eyes of European players, Asian players may be more afraid of blame due to their educational background. In training, I will encourage the players and praise them even when they make mistakes, so that they can enjoy soccer in a happy way."

Talking about the future goals, Shui Qingxia said, "In the short term, we want to narrow the gap with Japan and Australia, and strive to achieve excellent results in the World Championships."

Talking about Wang Frost's injury, Shui Qingxia recalled, "After Wang Frost was injured, we immediately adjusted the lineup. If she could recover in time, it would be a psychological victory for us. The coach of the Japanese team had been concerned about Wang Frost and worried that she would not be able to play. Wang Frost had cried after the injury and felt sorry that she could not play for her country. We blocked the news to the outside world and didn't announce that Wang Frost couldn't play due to her injury until the broadcast of the match. We were worried that when the news leaked, the Japanese team would take measures to deal with it." (DD)
