Vietnamese media disclosed that South Korean coach Park Hang-su is actively laying out a new chapter for Vietnamese soccer, planning to transform the team's tactical system, which is based on possession and counter-attacking, into a more attacking school of soccer.

Park Hang Suh has brought Vietnam to the World Cup Asian Zone Round of 12, having already created the glory of Vietnamese soccer. Despite failing to win the first seven rounds of the tournament, Vietnam earned its first victory in the history of the 12-team tournament by defeating the country's men's soccer team 3-1 at home in the eighth round of the tournament during the Lunar New Year. Currently, the point gap between Vietnam and the country's men's soccer team is two points, and the team is striving to beat Oman in the remaining two matches to win three points and put the country's men's soccer team in the bottom of the group. After entering the World Cup final round for the first time, they recorded their first win since the start of the tournament.

After writing a new chapter for Vietnamese soccer, Park Hang-su has embarked on the next phase of his plan: introducing more advanced soccer tactics. According to his close friends, Vietnamese soccer is about to undergo a profound change, and Park wants his team to show a more offensive style than before.

Vietnam is expected to try out a new formation in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Oman and Japan, shifting from the original defensive counter-attack to an active attack. Park Hang-su, who has had success with defensive counter-attacking tactics, will try a new tactical arrangement in a bid to propel Vietnamese soccer to new heights.

On March 6, the Vietnam Football Association (VFA) confirmed that Park Hang-su had contracted New Crown Pneumonia and fortunately, his health is now stable. Over the past few days, he has been in self-isolation at the Vietnam Football Association's residence and has been in constant communication with his coaching team through online meetings to strategize for the Vietnam national team and the U23 national youth team.

The Vietnamese media noted that the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) also wants to negotiate a contract extension with Park Hang-su in the hope that he can focus on his work with the national team or even sign a longer-term contract.
