According to the BBC, the Guardian and other authoritative media revealed that the former U.S. soccer superstar Wambach was arrested by the U.S. police for a DUI incident, and after his release, he released a sincere statement of apology on his personal social media platforms.
Late Saturday afternoon local time, on-duty traffic officers caught Wambach driving through a red light and proceeded to stop his vehicle. Police detected the odor of alcohol in his vehicle, and Wambach was then taken to a nearby Portland police station for a breathalyzer test. According to a Portland Police spokesperson, Wambach failed the test and had an excessive BAC.
