Yesterday, China's Football Association officially announced a national football training squad consisting of 39 players. After a short break in Gusau, the national football team will regroup in Haikou on March 3 and is scheduled to depart for the United Arab Emirates around March 10 to make a final push for the last two rounds of the upcoming World Qualifying Asian Zone 12 tournament.
According to the tournament schedule, the national football team will host Saudi Arabia on March 24th and challenge Oman on March 29th. Although the national football team has been out of the tournament in advance, the Football Association still expects the national football team to debut with the strongest lineup and provide more exercise opportunities for young players.
In view of the epidemic prevention needs, the home matches of the 9th round of the national football team have been arranged in Sharjah, UAE. After assembling, the national football team is expected to depart for the UAE on March 10 for final preparations. After the match, the national football team will quickly move to Oman and is expected to return home around March 31st.
In the March preparation list announced by the Football Association yesterday, five naturalized players who have not yet returned to their home countries are still listed, and they need to travel to West Asia before March 18 to join the national football team. As for overseas players, only Li Lei, who plays for Grasshopper in Switzerland, was called up for the list, while Wu Lei, who plays for Spaniards, failed to make the cut. There is no definite news on whether Wu Lei will play or not.
