The second round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) Elevation Playoffs on January 12 saw Dalian People and Chengdu Rongcheng battle it out, with Chengdu Rongcheng winning 1-0, while Qingdao and Zhejiang played out a 0-0 draw. In the end, the Dalian people were defeated by Chengdu Rongcheng 1-2 on aggregate, while Qingdao lost to Zhejiang 0-1 on aggregate. 2021 Chinese Super League season has been finalized, and Chengdu Rongcheng and Zhejiang have been successfully promoted.

The first round match between Chengdu Rongcheng and Dalian Ren ended 1-1. In the second half, referee Li Haixin's controversial penalty ignited the Dalian Ren team's discontent, with players and officials mobbing the referee after the match. The CFA subsequently issued a fine of 830,000 RMB to Dalian Ren, suspending two players, Zheng Long and Yang Hao Yu. This heavy fine has definitely dealt a blow to the morale of the Dalian Ren.

The Chinese Super League (CSL) expands to 18 teams in the 2022 season, with the top four teams in the Chinese League One (CLA), Wuhan Sanzhen, Meizhou Hakka, Chengdu Rongcheng and Zhejiang, joining the CSL family. Four teams from Guangzhou and Shenzhen will also join the battlefield of the Chinese Super League, which will present a bustling scene.
