
In the late afternoon of January 8, China's soccer community in Chengdu ushered in a grand gathering - the eleventh session of the Football Association Executive Committee of the fifth meeting of the convening. Du Zhaocai, deputy director of the State General Administration of Sports and party secretary of the Football Association, and Chen Xuyuan, chairman of the Executive Committee, and other 23 members of the Executive Committee gathered, of which 7 members due to the epidemic and other factors, to participate in the way of videoconferencing. Inside the conference room, the atmosphere was solemn and warm.
At the meeting, the Association made a detailed report on the preparations for the upcoming second meeting of the 11th General Assembly and considered the report on the work of the Association as well as the financial reports for 2019 and 2020. In addition, the meeting unanimously agreed to set up six branches of the association, including a press committee and a technical committee, which will be submitted to the general meeting for consideration. Meanwhile, the meeting also agreed to the resignation request of Zhang Aijun, the executive committee member, and set the agenda of the general meeting. According to the decision of the meeting, the second meeting of the 11th General Assembly of the Association will be held in Chengdu on January 9, the following day.
At the climax of the meeting, the preparatory team of the China Professional Football Clubs Federation introduced the progress of the reform on the diversification of clubs' shareholdings to the executive committee members present at the meeting. In the face of a series of issues concerning the future of soccer, such as the reform of equity diversification, salary limitation in professional league, youth soccer training, coach training, etc., the executive committee members expressed their opinions and had a warm discussion.
At the critical moment of the meeting, Du Zhaocai, Deputy Director General of the State General Administration of Sports and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Football Association, delivered an important speech. He pointed out that China's soccer is facing unprecedented challenges, and there is still a big gap between the performance of the national team and the expectations of the public and the requirements of the leadership. Therefore, deepening soccer reform has become a top priority. As the core body of the FA, members of the Executive Committee should study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on soccer work in depth, think deeply about the mode and path of soccer reform and development, recognize the situation, perform their duties effectively, and contribute their wisdom and strength to the healthy development of China's soccer.
