After a "man-made" caused by the Olympic trough, China's women's soccer team as the phoenix rises from the ashes, revitalization, opened a new round of Olympic cycle of hard training.
On the night of December 8, the Chinese Football Association officially announced the new women's football training list, the team plans to start closed training in Shanghai from December 9 to January 15, for the upcoming Asian Cup tournament to sharpen the sword.
Compared to the controversial list at the Tokyo Olympics, this training squad welcomes a number of strong international players, as well as a number of up-and-coming stars.
Obviously, the new head coach Shui Qingxia is aiming to build the strongest lineup and reserve more talent for the future.
Only half the players left on Tokyo Olympic roster made the cut
Shui Qingxia's first training session after taking over, and also the team's first assembly of the Paris Olympic cycle, a training list that sparked much speculation even before it was announced.
As can be seen from the list, many of the players who played for their country at the Tokyo Olympics are not in the new lineup.
At the Tokyo Olympics, then-head coach Jia Xiuquan picked a surprise entry list that included a number of newcomers with little experience in the national team. Compared to the current training list, only 11 of the 22-man Tokyo Olympics squad appeared on Shui Qingxia's first training list after she took over.
The retention rate is only half, signaling that the new cycle of China's women's soccer team will be very different from that of the Tokyo Olympics, and that those talented names who were overlooked during the Tokyo Olympics are returning.
Ma Jun, Tang Jiali, Lou Jiahui, Li Ying and other familiar players return to the national team. Li Jiayue, Zhao Lina and other strength, but not in the Jia Xiuquan period to get reused veterans are also selected again.
Wang Frost, Wang Shanshan and other core players are still firmly in the list - this list is undoubtedly the best reflection of the current Chinese women's football team.
