Talking about salary, Li Jiayue recalled her own growth: "I remember when I first joined the Shanghai women's soccer team in 2007, my monthly salary was only 800 yuan. In 2012, I was selected as a member of the national team and became a starter, and my monthly salary reached 5,000 yuan. 2014, I went to South Korea for further study, and my monthly salary soared to 20,000 yuan."
However, Li Jiayue also said: "These were six or seven years ago, and the salaries of women's soccer have changed drastically compared to then. Nowadays, young players who are new to the team, even if they are just alternates, can earn 5,000 or 6,000 RMB per month. Compared with the past, women's soccer has indeed made great strides, and the overall treatment is improving."
