At that time people thought I would join a European club, but eventually something happened that prompted me to make the decision to come to China. I was in talks with Guangzhou Evergrande and Manchester City at the same time, but due to some problems I couldn't join Manchester City. And the offer from China was very attractive and I finally chose Guangzhou Evergrande."
