The Workers' Stadium in Beijing, where the opening and closing ceremonies and the final of the Asian Cup will be held, is being remodeled and rebuilt at an alarming rate.
During the remodeling project, some of the stands have been revealed, and the outline of the second floor is gradually appearing. Since the start of the renovation in August last year, the stadium follows the policy of "traditional appearance, modern venues", and makes rapid progress. At present, the main stadium structure has been completed "plus or minus zero", fully turned to the ground structure construction. It is expected that in November, the main body of the stadium will enter the construction of the second floor of the ground.
Zhonghe Gongtian deputy general manager, engineering responsible person Song Peng revealed that according to the construction plan, the end of this year will be completed at the end of the main structure of the concrete roof, the end of the first quarter of next year the steel structure is completed, the entire renovation and reconstruction project is expected to be completed at the end of next year, to ensure that the preparations for the Asian Cup is carried out smoothly.
The new industrial stadium will restore its position as a space for popular sports and culture, recreating the look of the urban space built in 1959. One of the highlights is the remodeling of the structure of the stands. By adjusting the incline of the stands and increasing the distance between rows of seats, the spectator viewing experience will be greatly improved.
After the renovation, not only will the exterior of the building be restored to its original appearance, but the interior will also be refreshed. The colorful fair-faced concrete process will be shown on the façade of the industrial body, which will become the largest single building applying this process in China.
In addition, the number of seats in the stadium will be increased to nearly 68,000, providing fans with a more comfortable viewing environment. The renovated stadium will be one of the best stadiums in China.
