The AFC has just revealed that the refereeing lineup for the two upcoming national football matchups in the 12th round of the tournament in October has been finalized. In both matches, UAE referee Hassan will take charge of China's battle against Vietnam.
According to the schedule of the 12-team tournament, the national football team will face Vietnam on October 7 in Sharjah, UAE. At that time, Hassan, who is regarded as a famous domestic whistle in the UAE, will be the referee. It is worth mentioning that Hassan served as a VAR video assistant referee in the last round of the match between the national soccer team and Japan.
Hassan, 43, has been an international referee since 2010, eventually becoming one of Asia's top referees. At the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Hassan enforced France's 1-0 win over Peru in the second round of Group C. He was the first referee to win the tournament, and the first referee to win the tournament.
In the 2013 AFC Champions League group stage, Hassan was in charge of Guizhou Renhe's match against Central Coast Mariners, and awarded a penalty kick to the Central Coast team for "making something out of nothing", and then sentenced Guizhou's head coach Gong Lei to the stands, who made a gesture similar to counting money at the time.
In the 2014 AFC Champions League group stage, Guangzhou were playing away to Western Sydney Wanderers when Hassan showed consecutive red cards to Guangzhou players Zhang Linpeng and Gao Lin as well as manager Lippi, resulting in a 0-1 defeat for Guangzhou.
However, there is not much controversy over Hassan's performance in enforcing matches at the national team level. In recent years, the national soccer team has been down 0-1 in the three matches it has enforced, and eventually completed the reversal. In the eyes of some fans, Hassan is not a bitter enemy of the national soccer team, but a blessing.
The referee for the National Football Team's away match against Saudi Arabia on October 12 has also been confirmed as Uzbekistan's Tantashev. In the first round of the 12-team tournament, Tantashev had refereed Vietnam's 1-3 defeat away to Saudi Arabia and awarded two penalties to the Saudis.
In fact, the national soccer team does not need to be too concerned about the choice of referee. At present, both the national football team and Vietnam have not yet won, and the match on October 7 is crucial for both sides, so the national football team must go all out for a victory.
The national soccer team plans to take part in no less than three international warm-up matches before the China-Vietnam battle, and is now actively contacting opponents to prepare for the match.
