The saying "practice makes perfect" also applies in the world of competitive soccer. Although talent is the key to competitive sports, no one succeeds easily in this international arena. In addition to talent, relentless hard work is the bridge to dreams and success.
The long off-season of the Chinese Super League is a good time for veterans to adjust and rest, while for young players who are eager to play but have few opportunities, it is an excellent opportunity to enhance their competitiveness and truly realize "practice makes perfect".
Taking Guangzhou youngster Tan Kaiyuan as an example, he shocked the audience by scoring a goal in only seven minutes of his appearance against Qingdao in the 14th round of the Chinese Super League (CSL). However, if he had become complacent, his future would not have been so bright. Fortunately, Tan Kaiyuan doesn't think that way. After experiencing injuries, he cherishes every opportunity to play even more and looks squarely at his strengths and weaknesses. It is understood that during the break, he did not choose to go home, but stayed in Guangzhou, every afternoon under the guidance of foreign physical fitness coach for targeted training, rain or shine.
TweetChat Sports New Media had the honor of recording a special training session with Tan Kai Yuen that lasted 2.5 hours. During the training, the foreign physical fitness coach took out his notebook from his backpack several times and seemed to be recording something. After the training, the team approached the coach to find out how Tan Kaiyuan was doing. Here are the details.
MING: Coach, how is Tan Kai Yuen's training status today?
Coach: The official special training started today, mainly to do a physical function test first to see his physical condition. Tan Kaiyuan's condition is a bit better than I expected, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. He has good physical condition and talent, but he needs to keep working hard to get better.
Tweet: I see you have two notebooks in your backpack that you look through and take notes on from time to time during training, what's the deal with that?
Coach: This is my customized training plan for Tan Kai Yuen. I will keep recording it so that I can analyze the effect of the special training and adjust the training plan at any time according to his condition. Recording all the data will reflect the progress of Tan Kaiyuan's training, such as the recovery time of each interval and the weight of each set of push-ups, which also serves as a reference for future development.
MING: Which area do you think Tan Kay Won needs to strengthen the most at the moment? Has he targeted his preparation?
Coach: It is not easy for him to have such a robust body at such a young age, it takes time and patience. We should respect the rule, step by step, slowly develop his body. Europe is much more detailed in the training of young players, such as gym training, where everyone has different training weights and needs to develop a program for individual situations. Now I'm bringing this method to China to develop an exclusive program for Tan Kaiyuan, because every team and player has their own special situation, and most of the training emphasizes targeting, except for a small number of team-building programs.
MING: Do you believe that with your help, Tan Kay Won will make stage-by-stage progress, become physically stronger and more powerful?
Coach: I am very confident! As long as Tan Kaiyuan sticks to it and completes his training every day in accordance with the plan I have set up in terms of quality and quantity, he will definitely make progress, and his physical confrontation ability will be stronger than it is now, and his overall competitiveness will be improved, and I believe that he will become even stronger.
Good luck to Tan Kaiyuan as he utilizes this time in the offseason to get stronger. When the Chinese Super League restarts at the end of the year, he is expected to make new achievements for the Guangzhou team. At the same time, we also expect more young Guangzhou players to "practice makes perfect", and to continue to improve their own strengths while laying a solid foundation for the future glory of this honor-laden team.
