According to the assembly order issued by the CFA, the 31 international players who will join the latest phase of the Chinese men's soccer team assembly, with the exception of star striker Wu Lei, who plays in La Liga, must arrive at the team's hotel in Shanghai by 6 p.m. on Aug. 19 to sign in. Those players from the first phase of the Chinese Super League in Guangzhou, on the other hand, will have to complete the signing-in procedure by 12 noon on the 18th. It is reported that the team plans to start the first outdoor training of this training period at 4:00 p.m. on the evening of the 18th at the base of the Houpaier Sports Park, focusing on physical recovery and fitness reserves.

In preparation for the Qatar World Cup Asian Qualifying Round 12, which is due to start in early September, the Chinese team has started a week-long training in Shanghai in the middle of this month and plans to travel to Doha, Qatar afterwards to prepare for the matches against Australia and Japan. The coaching team and management staff completed their check-in on the 17th, while the players from the Guangzhou tournament arrived by 12 noon on the 18th. Although only two clubs, Guangzhou and Shandong Taishan, have had players called up, eight and six each have been selected, almost occupying the mainstay of the current national football training.

Of the remaining 17 internationals, apart from Wu Lei, the remaining 16 were able to delay joining until the 19th due to their participation in the August 15th round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) bye match in Suzhou. However, given the tight timeframe for preparation, head coach Li Tie still decided to start training from the 18th.

Similar to previous training sessions, although the international players were generally tired after the intensive league games, their desire for the Qatar World Cup forced them to overcome the difficulties and devote themselves to the next stage of the national soccer preparation with full enthusiasm. Since noon on the 17th, there have been international players arriving in Shanghai, among which the earliest one to sign in was Jiang Guangtai, a naturalized player from the Guangzhou team, followed by naturalized players such as Eckerson, Luo Guofu and other players from the Guangzhou tournament one after another. Head coach Li Tie also arrived in the afternoon of the 17th.

In view of the seriousness of the epidemic prevention and control, the CFA and the management team of the national football team have put forward strict epidemic prevention requirements for all team members. All members will collectively undergo a nucleic acid test upon arrival. During the period of playing in Shanghai and going to overseas matches, the members will be arranged in independent rooms. There are also strict epidemic prevention rules within the national football team for diet and personal actions.

Although as of noon on the 18th, only 14 international players to the team, but in order to help the whole team as soon as possible to enter the state of preparation, Li Tie decided to carry out the first outdoor training in the afternoon of this training session. Players in a few days of rest, the body is still tired, so the necessary physical recovery or "wake up" training will be the next focus.
