Approaching August 4, the drums of the World Qualifying Asian Zone 12 are about to beat. According to the Journal Sports exclusive revelations, in view of the severe situation of the new crown epidemic, the AFC has been August 3 to all participating teams of the National Football Association officially issued a document to urgently notify the teams to make preparations for the adjustment of the system.

The AFC is said to be weighing whether to change the 12-team tournament to a conference system, which would make the schedule much more intensive. A JFF official said, "We will be prepared for anything regardless of the change in the tournament system. The official document from the AFC has already been conveyed to Coach Morihiro Ichi."

The initial stance of the JFA is to try to keep the home-and-away system, but even if it switches to a tournament system, it won't be much of a problem for the Japanese team. After all, many of the Japanese internationals, including head coach Mori Boichi, have experienced the intense schedule of the Olympics and are believed to be well equipped to deal with the intensive schedule.

The AFC is expected to give a definitive answer by the end of this month as to whether or not the Final 12 will eventually adopt the tournament system.
