On the night of July 28th, a much-anticipated 9th round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) was played between Shanghai Shenhua and Wuhan in the Chinese soccer arena. The match was played at 20:30, and the two sides had a fierce duel on the green field.

On Shanghai Shenhua's side, Moreno broke through twice, but both were ruled offside. Lopez's long-range shot hit the post, while Li Chao's handball in the penalty area gave away a penalty kick, but Yu Hanchao's penalty kick was regrettably saved. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.

In the 25th minute, Zhao Mingjian's cross from the right road was headed by Jin Xinyu, and Li Chao's clearance hit his teammate. In the 26th minute, Shenhua won a corner kick opportunity, Moreno shot high.

In the second half, in the 46th minute, Cao Yunding crossed from the left, and Eddie's header was uncontested. In the 48th minute, Adrian's corner kick to the penalty area, Jonic header was parried by Wang Zhifeng. In the 55th minute, Adrian took a long-distance shot, and Wang Zhifeng again made a diving save. In the 71st minute, Lopez's shot hit the post. In the 80th minute, Luo Yi was brought down, Adrian received a yellow card, Wuhan was awarded a set piece.

In the 85th minute, Zhao Mingjian picked a cross, Moreno header, but offside. In the 90th minute, Li Chao's handball was ruled a foul after the referee communicated with the video referee, but Yu Hanchao's penalty kick was still pounced by Wang Zhifeng. The match ended with Shanghai Shenhua and Wuhan shaking hands 0-0.
