On June 20, shocking news came out of Uruguay: Robert Lima, a former soccer great, died at the age of 48 after suffering a heart attack during a friend's soccer game. Just as the flower of life was about to bloom at the age of 49, it came to an abrupt end.

On that day, Robert Lima was sweating happily with his friends when, unbeknownst to him, fate put an end to this joyous moment. Sadly, just a few hours after his death, his ex-wife also passed away due to health problems.

Robert Lima's career began on June 18, 1972, when he made his debut with Uruguayan giants Penarol with a spectacular goal in 1993, and in 2003 he crossed the sea to China to join Harbin Lange in the First B League as a central defender. However, the journey ended with his departure due to unpaid wages at the club.

In 2005, Robert Lima once again embarked on a journey in Chinese soccer, joining Shanghai Jucheng in the Central League. After one season, he returned home to join Liverpool in the Uruguayan league. After his retirement, he transitioned into coaching, wielding his soccer acumen with teams in Uruguay as well as Honduras.
