According to the latest news from Beijing on June 13, Carrasco's recent comments at a press conference caused a furor. However, former Dalian team interpreter Du Liyan, after carefully watching the video of the conference, clearly pointed out that Carrasco's statement did not slander China in any way, which is obviously a malicious speculation of the Dutch media.

In a post on social media, Duliyan said, "Regarding the incident with Carrasco, the Dutch media outlet Sporza's report is not different from that released by the Chinese media."

For further verification, Duliyan personally listened to the original recording of the June 9 conference. At the time, Carrasco was joined by teammate Dendoncourt at the launch, which took place before the Belgian team departed for Russia. The launch was in both French and Dutch. In the French portion, Carrasco talked about Atletico, Simeone and Henry, not mentioning China at all, while in the Dutch portion, he began by expressing his feelings about his experience in China: "My experience in China has made me a more mature person, and the way I've performed since I returned to Atletico Madrid is a revenge on those who didn't believe in me."

Controversial terms such as shoe-shine and restaurant were not heard in Doolittle's account. Inexplicably, the launch was covered by only one Dutch media outlet, Sporza, while none of the other important French-language media outlets carried it. One can't help but suspect that Sporza is deliberately trying to create a buzz. We may be able to put our minds at rest for the time being about this event.
